Supper at the Sugar Shack, March 24
The sugaring-off season is upon us, which means that tennis, sailing and rowing can’t be far away! Join us on Friday, March 24 at 6:00 pm for a traditional meal at the Sugar Shack of the Vanier Museopark*. RSVP to email@example.com by March 19. This small cabin is reserved for our group and the meals must be ordered in advance.
Where: Richelieu Park, 300 Pères Blancs Avenue, (OC Transpo Bus #5)
Menu: Pancakes and maple syrup, pea soup, grilled salt pork, maple sausages or bacon, roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, baked beans, maple taffy, beverage (juice, milk, tea or coffee).
Cost: $20.50 per person plus tip. Child’s meal available.
* “The only urban sugar shack in Canada.” Arrive early and (weather permitting) you can walk through the Richelieu forest where, each year, up to 1000 trees are tapped in the traditional way to produce maple syrup in the sugar shack.
ONEC Skating Party, February 22
You’re invited to an evening of skating to music at the historic Rideau Hall skating rink!
The ice rink is reserved for ONEC members and families on Wednesday, February 22 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Hot chocolate and snacks will be available in the heated skating hut next to the rink. On-site parking can be accessed via Princess Gate, directly off Princess Avenue.
We need to know if you plan to attend, since access to the grounds is controlled and reservations cannot exceed 50 people. Please reply to firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate the number of skaters coming by February 18th.
