Swing Dance Tuesdays

Join the excitement of swing dancing in Ottawa's most picturesque ballroom! Dance those Tuesday nights away down in our historic Boathouse ballroom, just like Ottawans did in the 1930s to '50s. The Ottawa Swing Dance Society hosts lessons combined with social dancing at Ottawa's most beautiful dance ballroom and deck overlooking the Ottawa River down by Rockcliffe. It is open to the public and to all ONEC members, so please tell those who may be interested or e-mail them this link: www.onec.ca/socialswing.html!

Cost: $5 for ONEC members and drop-in visitors. It's the best way to meet Ottawa's most interesting people and enjoy those warm evenings throughout the late Spring and Summer.

Lesson from 7:30–8:00PM in East Coast Swing Dancing. Dancing until 10:30PM and maybe later — crowd willing. Drinks available at the Boathouse ballroom bar to be savoured in the ballroom or on the riverview deck.

Located on Rockcliffe Parkway, at the foot of Rockcliffe's eastern slope, just east of the Lookout and west of the Aviation Museum and RCMP. To get there from Downtown, go East on Sussex Avenue past the Prime Minister's residence at 24 Sussex and keep on going another 3 - 3.5 km East. Sussex changes into Rockcliffe Parkway, as it meanders past Rockcliffe Park, around a lookout, and down a hill near the Rockeries. You can see the boathouse as you come down the hill on the left hand side. The club is located on both sides of the road, at the bottom of the hill on the straight away towards the airport. Parking is at the tennis courts on the right side of the road and the Boathouse is on the North side, by the river.
