Charleston Lake is nestled in the heart of the UNESCO Frontenac Arch Biosphere. On Saturday June 3 and Sunday June 4, OAR will explore this beautiful, rocky, forested lake for the first time as a tour.

Charleston Lake is nestled in the heart of the UNESCO Frontenac Arch Biosphere. On Saturday June 3 and Sunday June 4, OAR will explore this beautiful, rocky, forested lake for the first time as a tour. 14 kms long and over 6 kms wide, it is full of islands, coves, reefs and some of the clearest water in Ontario.
Saturday morning, we plan to launch from Charleston Lake Boat Launch (part of the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority) at Charleston Village. Launch times will be confirmed closer to the tour. We will explore around the islands of the western part of the lake covering approx 15 kms in total, with a stop for a picnic lunch. We will return to our launch site that afternoon.
Sunday we will again launch from Charleston Lake Boat Launch but will make our way along the eastern shore of the lake, past Charleston Lake…
