Tuesday workout,
Warm up, backing out of the docks, breaking down the stroke with emphasis on body pivot, (back and arms only)
Chopping at forward body angle, straight arms body forward. Notice where your hands are in relation to your straight legs. At ankle? Mid shinn?
Row but do not begin lean back (open you back) until your hand has reached the location you noted when chopping. Legs must be fully straight.
TIME TRIAL: either upriver from marina (3km) or from end if Kettle Island (4.5km). Time how long it takes to row all the way back to the upriver end of Kettle without stopping. Use your watch or phone. Push yourself!

Hi Sherry. 3/4 rookies scheduled to row tomorrow AM have had to cancel, leaving just moi. I’ve yet to attempt a complete trip round the island; while I think I could do it safely, I dunno that I could do so in under 90 mins since I’ve never tried. Will I be able to row partway down the island on the south side & cross over to turn back to keep time, or would this be a no-no since I’d be solo? Happy to do newbie drills solo if you give the okay, also fine to skip tomorrow & join on Thurs with fellow fresh(wo)men. :)
