Dock Opening

The dock is now open for business. As a reminder, space is currently limited. We are exploring options to increase our capacity, but pack your patience.

Tomorrow is scheduled to be a busy day due to the Hot Air Balloon tour and a high volume of rowing members. To ensure a smooth operation, please review the following guidelines:

• Prep Before Launch: Please complete as much preparation as possible before putting your boat in the water. i.e. Adjust your feet on a stretcher or wait until on the water.

Hello Rowers,

As you are aware, work is about to begin on the west foundation of the Riverhouse by an external contractor. Please read the following safety and operational updates before heading out to the water:

• Current Setup: The contractor’s barge is now in place. A ramp has been installed linking the east side of the grey rowing/paddling docks to the two foot high barge. 

• West Grey Dock: The section of the grey docks located west of the contractor's barge is currently highly unstable as work there is incomplete. Tomorrow morning, workers will secure the  west grey dock and construct a ramp linking the west grey dock to the contractor’s  barge. They will also attach a wooden dock to the end of the grey dock to extend its length. This work is scheduled to begin tomorrow between 07:30 AM and 08:00 AM.

Patrick tells me the company is building ramps today and possibly tomorrow. This will give us access to the short piece of dock. The plan is to attach a wooden dock to the end of that short dock. This will leave us with about one third of the dock space we had before. He said if we want more we can add the really old docks to the end. We will have to assess the safety of these and see if they can be used.

I'm really sorry about this situation. We were not consulted about this and were promised it would not affect operations.
