  • 2024 Learn to Row (late season) - C

    Above pricing includes HST ( $546.00 + $70.98 HST) The ONEC Learn to Row program focusses on skill development and safety. By the end of 10 sessions, new rowers should be able to safely navigate the Ottawa River in a single scull with 2 oars. With a maximum of 5 in a class, under the guidance of highly skilled coaches, participants should: > Be able to demonstrate basic rowing skills, including how to safely launch and return the boat by themselves > Be able to explain basic sculling safety, including Ottawa River navigational patterns, when it is safe to row, and what to do in an emergency > Be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the ONEC electronic systems to book their own boats, connect with others to row safely and report any damage to the equipment. > And feel confident enough to safely traverse the Ottawa River. Start date subject to the waterfront conditions, at the time, the schedule may be delayed by 1 week. Refunds: For cancelations within 7 days of the start date, up to the end of the introductory classes eligible for a refund of: • $400 – Early Season • $250 – Mid Season To opt out, complete the “Request for Refund Form” at the bottom of the ONEC Learn to Row website.

  • Big Canoe Excursion

    After an introduction to Big Canoe strokes, participants learn how to paddle together as a team as we embark on a trip into nature and history on the Ottawa River. Open to all members, guests and public. Price is $40 (+13% HST) = $45.20 A minimum of 4 participants is required for the excursion. If we do not have enough participants, we will offer to reschedule your excursion to another date (or refund you). Meet outside the ONEC Waterfront Room on the lower level in the N.C.C. River House. After crossing the bridge, go round left side of building and down outside back stairs to lower level. The ONEC room is on the right at the bottom of stairs. Eligibility: Adults and accompanied children 12 years and older; No canoeing experience is necessary, but everyone is expected to paddle. Equipment: Paddles and PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices) are provided. Bring water and snacks as well as weather appropriate items, e,g, sunscreen, sun or rain hats, rain jackets. Cancellation policy: Cancellation by client: prior to 48 hours, refund minus $10 processing fee per client / within 48 hours, no refund unless the place can be filled. Cancellation by Club due to weather or any other unforeseen circumstance: full credit for another excursion or refund.

  • 2023 Intro to Kayak Skills Clinic

    No experience is necessary, as this Intro to Kayaking clinic will start with the basics, including getting in and out at the dock safely and reviewing basic paddling strokes. The clinic will go on to introduce intermediate strokes and assisted rescues depending on interest, time and conditions Price is $60 (+13%HST)= $67.80 Closed toe footwear is required i.e. no flip flops Bring a change of clothes - you will be getting wet Bring water Bring your personal PFD

    Free for ALL previous ONEC Rowers! ​ Are you a bit unsure about getting back on the water?  Still pretty new to the sport of Rowing?  Have you taken a year or two off from the sport? ​ Come visit us and get back onto the water for Free.  Check out our new waterfront facilities nestled directly along the shore of the beautiful Ottawa River. ​ See how ONEC Rowing is taking Covid-19 Safety seriously. ​ Front row seats to spectacular sunrises and sunsets, as well as the ongoing renovations to our National Heritage Boathouse. ​ Let Norma and her team of Coaches help to get you back on the water safely so that you'll have the confidence to take off along the Ottawa River again! ​ What's included in the Free Back on the Water Program: ​ One Free Coached Session with a Row Ontario Certified Coach, or Coach who is actively completing their Every Coach Certified training. ​ Class Includes: ​ 1.   • Orientation and Assessment

    Target audience: New members who are experienced scullers ​​ Our goals are to give you an orientation to the Club, its rowing rules, safety, and the River including navigation routes; as well we will ensure that scullers are skilled enough to safely take out Club boats. ​​ Upon a successful assessment of your sculling competencies, you will be eligible to register for our full Membership, which includes access to our online boat reservation system, as well as all ONEC ROWING and Ontario Adventure Rowing programming. ​​ Note: If you need more sculling coaching, you will be directed to a Learn-to-Scull Step 1 course or, if you need a sculling refresher, a Learn-to-Scull Step 2 course.

  • Rowing Update

    Join the RCC on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 at 7:30PM on Zoom. We'll provide a brief update on plans for the 2021 rowing season. The main focus for this Zoom meeting will be to provide information on Membership updates and the new registration process for 2021. We'll also have a short Tutorial on how to register followed by a question period. We'll host a second Zoom meeting closer to the Rowing season with details about how ONEC and the RCC are taking covid-19 safety seriously and provide updates on policy as well as club operational procedures for 2021. These updates will also be made available at www.rowonec.com/covid-19

    Join the RCC on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 at 7:30PM on Zoom. The main focus for this Zoom meeting will be to provide information on Covid-19 rowing policy and procedures. We'll also provide some details on what we've got planned for the summer!
