In addition, we'll be expanding our cross-country skiing, winter trekking and skating programs. | | Kichi Sibi Winter Trail A beautiful trail along the Ottawa river that includes fantastic views of downtown and the Parliament Buildings. ONEC is looking for help from volunteers to lead our winter programming for cross country skiing, trekking and skating along the Canal. In order to be considered you will need to have Safe Sport training and First Aid training preferred. In July, the Honourable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sport, announced that Rowing Canada (RCA) was a recipient of $885,000 in funding from the 2022-2023 Community Sport for All Initiative. This funding has been dedicated to programming designed to remove barriers and increase sport participation for equity-deserving and underrepresented populations. RCA opened applications to member clubs in July for community-level project funding for programs addressing barriers to participation in sport, particularly among Black, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQQIA+, and newcomer populations as well as girls and women. Held in partnership with the Ottawa Senior Pride Network, the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club was proud to be chosen to deliver programming for 2SLGBTQQIA+ seniors (50+) and friends. “It has been such an incredible journey participating in the Rowing Canada Aviron and Sport Canada Community Sport for All Initiative,” said John Stuart Moore, Ottawa New Edinburgh Club. “Supported by our partner, the Ottawa Senior Pride Network, we have been able to share our passion for the sport of rowing and fitness-for-life philosophy with the Ottawa 2SLGBTQQIA+ community. Throughout the year, your Ottawa New Edinburgh Club strives to be a welcoming and inclusive member of the community. With ONEC's regular season now over, our thoughts start to shift to off-season activities. In this regard, ONEC is planning a number of social events which we hope to announce over the coming months. With this in mind, it is an opportune time to remind everyone that, when attending club social events, it is expected that ONEC members will at all times behave in a manner consistent with ONEC's Code of Ethics and Conduct. This includes avoiding confrontational situations and refraining from the use of profanity or demeaning language towards others. We encourage you to take a moment to review ONEC's Code of Ethics and Conduct, which is contained in the Members Handbook. |

Tout au long de l'année, votre Ottawa New Edinburgh Club s'efforce d'être un membre accueillant et inclusif de la communauté. La saison régulière de l'ONEC étant maintenant terminée, nos pensées commencent à se tourner vers les activités hors saison. À cet égard, l'ONEC prévoit un certain nombre d'événements sociaux que nous espérons annoncer dans les mois à venir. Dans cette optique, il est opportun de rappeler à tous que, lors des événements sociaux du club, il est attendu des membres de l'ONEC qu'ils se comportent à tout moment d'une manière conforme au code d'éthique et de conduite de l'ONEC.
