ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Completion of Step II: Skills consolidation class and minimum one season of rowing experience.
A fun way to connect with other ONEC rowers who are interested in venturing off to some of Ontario's great distance regattas, or maybe you're looking for some coaching in your pursuit of the perfect rowing stroke.
Either way, we'd love to have you come join us for our structured coached workouts. The ONEC Masters program is open to everyone and all boat types are welcome.
Workouts will be roughly 1.5 hours including: dynamic dryland warm-up, coached row and debrief with stretching.
Classes will take place along one of two routes ('the box' or 'kettle island channel'). There will be multiple segments each focusing on a different aspect of improving the stroke and general fitness. At the end of each segment there will be a 'check point'. Check points will be a catch up spot where all rowers in the group will reconnect (if we get separated). Check points will have a stationary drill for you to practice while the group reconnects.
You will still need to have your PFD and safety kit (even if there is a coach boat).
The ONEC Masters program uses the ONEC Rowing Club Calendar. Look for upcoming practices and RSVP right in the Calendar.
Tuesdays at 6:00 AM
Thursdays at 6:00 AM
Maximum class size: 10
You will need to book your boat on the reservation system in addition to signing up for your class.
New for 2022
Hey ONEC Masters Crew! Meet Faster Masters.
Faster Masters is a training system for rowers. In addition to our twice weekly coached rows, we'll also have unique asyncronous practices and experiences that focus on helping you attain peak health for the September and October Head Regatta Season.
