Current
Opportunities
Tennis
-
Join one of our opening or closing work parties – lots of different tasks for every kind of person!

Help run a club tennis ladder, round robin, or tournament.

Become a tennis social coordinator or join an organizing team for a social event.
-
Pitch in with light in-season court work. There are always small maintenance jobs to do during the season.

Help with planning and organizing through the tennis committee.
Sailing
-
Take on a leadership role as racing coordinator, training coordinator, dock master, fleet captain or harbour master.

Pitch in as a trainer in the Learn-to-Sail program.
-
Join the Spring and Fall work parties! Current and future sailors gather at these all-hands-on-deck, or at least all-hands-on-dock, events to launch and rig the fleet in May and stow it safely away again in October.

Bring your sewing, woodwork, fibreglassing, or general maintenance skills to bear repairing our fleet of boats.

Be part of our dock maintenance team – there’s always something to fix!

Be a sailing social coordinator or help out with specific events.
Paddling
-
Be a leader on the paddling committee coordinating communications and social events; organizing volunteer hosts for member paddling outings, being the fleet captain or becoming a safety officer.

Join the “Buddy Brigade” who take turns being the organizing host for weekly member kayak outings.

Meet new and returning members at the paddling spring and fall work parties – bring kayaks, SUPs and canoes down to the docks in May and back to safe storage near the tennis pavilion in October.

Assist with the planning and delivery of specific social and/or paddling events.

Join the team helping out with dock moving, maintenance and repair.
Rowing
-
Join the rowing committee and help out with planning and organization.

Join the team transporting rowing shells to and from storage in the Spring and Fall.

Be a rowing coach, helping new members develop the skills to be safe out on the river.

Help with boat maintenance – cleaning and repairing rowing shells throughout the year.

Coordinating tours and social events during the season.

Pitching in with dock repairs and participating in Spring and Fall work parties.
Behind the Scenes
-
Help with writing grant proposals for special projects.
-
Join our ONEC communications committee or just bring your communications skills to bear helping out with our web site and social media accounts.

Be an ONEC social media ambassador, spreading the word through community networks.

Make it all “add up” helping with bookkeeping and finances.
-
Be on our “Doors Open Ottawa” team, helping showcase our programing to the community.
Keeping up our Infrastructure and Grounds

Help out with general maintenance of our River House space and the ONEC Pavilion.

Recommend improvements and projects, and help out with design and contracting of work.

Pitch in with your plumbing, painting and carpentry skills.
-
Put your green thumb to good use planning and implementing gardening and landscaping ideas around the pavilion.

We depend on volunteer hours from our members in order to help run the club and our events including regattas and tournaments.
