The Ottawa New Edinburgh Club (ONEC) and the Ottawa Senior Pride Network (OSPN) will be running free Come Try Rowing sessions for the Ottawa Senior 2SLGBTQQIA+ community and friends in a fun and inclusive space.  This programming is made possible by funding from Rowing Canada, Sport Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada.

Come join ONEC for some Learn to Row sessions! ONEC is a small and friendly rowing club that specializes in Fitness-for-Life recreational programming and adventure rowing along Ontario's beautiful waterways.

No experience in rowing required but a fondness of the water is recommended :)

We'll head out in our stable rowing boats that are ideal for learning the sport of Crew Rowing (we'll be rowing in Quads which have four rowers and 1 coxswain who helps to steer the boat). We'll travel along the beautiful Ottawa River past our historical boathouse, Capital landmarks and forested shoreline.

2SLGBTQQIA+ Coaching and 2SLGBTQQIA+ Ally Coxswains in a safe, inclusive and fun environment. All instructors are Safe Sport trained.  Safe Sport: Anyone involved in sport should be able to thrive and perform at their best without fear of abuse, neglect or other maltreatment.

All participants must wear appropriate clothing and be prepared to get wet. Everyone receiving rowing instruction must know how to swim and be in good physical shape. Open to 2SLGBTQQIA+ and Allies aged 50+ (and friends of all ages). For safety reasons, rowing coaches have the final decision on which rowers go out & under what circumstances. The minimum number of participants to run the program is four; maximum number is eight.
