About the Event

The Ottawa New Edinburgh Club (ONEC) will be running free Come Try Rowing sessions for the Ottawa 2SLGBTQQIA+ community in a fun and inclusive space.

ONEC is a small and friendly rowing club that specializes in Fitness-for-Life recreational programming and adventure rowing along Ontario's beautiful waterways.

No experience in rowing required but a fondness of the water is recommended :)

We'll give you a boathouse tour, equipment orientation, rowing machine session and some rowing by the ONEC docks.

2SLGBTQQIA+ Coaching and 2SLGBTQQIA+ Ally Coxswains in a safe, inclusive and fun environment. All instructors are Safe Sport trained.  Safe Sport: Anyone involved in sport should be able to thrive and perform at their best without fear of abuse, neglect or other maltreatment.

All participants must wear appropriate clothing and be prepared to get wet. Everyone receiving rowing instruction must know how to swim and be in good physical shape. For safety reasons, rowing coaches have the final decision on which rowers go out & under what circumstances.
