Friendly reminder to make sure to book your kayaks/SUPs in the online reservation system before going out. Important for fleet use tracking, safety, and helps others plan their outings (e.g., if folks take boats out without booking, others may assume the boats are available and book them, only to discover on arrival that the boat they booked isn’t there 😞). Thanks for doing your part to keep things running smoothly for all! 😊
What's the great thing about social paddle? It's social!
Weather wise, tonight is perfect. No humidity and gentle winds.
I am hoping to arrive by 5:30/5:45 and hit the water by 6:00.
BBQ at the tennis pavilion after.
In case you are not aware, Ottawa will be hosting it's first Full Ironman Canada event on Sunday. "The IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa event will start at 6 am with a 3.8-kilometre swim at Britannia Beach followed by a 180-kilometre bike ride through local neighbourhoods. It will wrap up with a 42.2-kilometre run around Parliament Hill. Participants have 17 hours to complete the event – a full day of adrenaline!"
There are a number of road closures, including Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway. As a former triathlete myself, who completed Half 70.3 Ironman races, this is a really big deal. These athletes have worked really really hard to get to this day and really need your understanding and support of these road closures, and they would not mind some cheering along the way too. 😀

When I heard about this on CBC radio I thought of you right away,
@Deb Kennette! Also appreciate the heads up re: road closures; I’ll be sure to plan around them when trekking to first aid training this W/E.
Wish I could be there tonight with the perfect weather. Have fun!!
