Paddled with Marie and Sikander across to the Gatineau side and then west exploring several inlets. We saw great blue herons and white egrets by the shore, several turtles sunbathing on logs and a healthy looking young deer by the water's edge. Thanks to the members who gave us their Canada flags to fly while we kayaked! It was hot, but so lovely on the water and quite peaceful. We were back by noon and well home before the epic storm!

Thanks to the Social Paddle crew we had an adventure paddle tonight, where we explored an inlet on Kettle Island (approximately7.5km round trip). After paddling down to the yatch club we crossed the river to get to the island. The water has dropped a bit, so we had to get out of our kayaks to cross the small sand bar to get to the inlet. There we so many birds and we able get relatively close to White Egress (I tried to get a photo but it wasn't very clear).

Overall, it was a beautiful night for a paddle, albeit it was pretty hot and staying hydrated was important. Thanks to everyone (@Stephanie, Sonia Granzer, @Gillian Fernie, @CAROL Bisson, and @Cassandra Bach) who came out to enjoy the outing!

It looks like it's going to be a great night for paddling. I'm planning being there and launching at 6pm. It's going to be super hot, so you might want to think about bring some extra water with you.
