Rowing friends! If you have ever complained about the docks being unsafe and/or too much work to maintain then we have good news! The club has purchased new-to-us docks in the style/material of the NCC docks. They will be delivered in the spring! Unfortunately now we need to pay for them. :(
One way you can help is to make a donation to the newly set up infrastructure fund. Side bonus it comes with a tax receipt! https://www.ontariosportnetwork.ca/nstf-projects/361-ottawa-new-edinburgh-club
Ontario Adventure Rowing announces:
🏆 2025 Women’s Distance Winner: Darlene Conway (ONEC) — 185 km !
CONGRATULATIONS Darlene!
OAR’s 2025 season featured 17 incredible days of single and multi-day tours, along with full and half marathons held across the province.
See the December issue of the OAR newsletter for a wrap-up of the 2025 season.
Congratulations Darlene. You certainly earned it and were an inspiration to all of us.
Get ready to lose that Christmas weight in the Concept 2 January Virtual Team Challenge. Starting January 1, 2026, rowers with access to an erg (any model) or water rower can sign-up to be part of the ONEC crew for the month long challenge.
Participants are asked to set a personal goal for the month, and the total meters become the crew's goal. ONEC has consistently placed in the top 1/3 of on-water rowing clubs world-wide in this event. You will need to get set up well before January 1 so for more information and to join the ONEC crew, contact Alistair Hensler at ahensler@bell.net.
Thanks for bringing that article forward Sherry. I’ve always wondered about the little graph on the erg monitor, and how it translates a good drive with power.
