Fall brings fewer daylight hours and cooler temps, but that doesn't mean we stop rowing! It does mean there are a few things to keep in mind

Fog can be almost as unpredictable as east winds! If you see fog on the water consider carefully if it is safe to launch.

A few tips...

• When in doubt don't go out

• If the fog seems to be rolling in or it is already foggy and you can't see the tip of Kettle, find a different activity.

• Wear bright colours and row with a buddy.

There was a film of oil on the surface of the Kettle island channel. It was over a large area downstream of a construction site and crane. Rowed through it this morning at 0600. Nasty fumes. Smells like diese to me. Let me know if you have any ideas on where to report it.
