Wow, another beautiful day. Hoping to see some paddlers for social and BBQ. With the sun setting earlier, we aim to leave the dock at 5:30 pm.

With several sunny days and an increase in overnight temperatures, water temperatures have also nudged back up :) We are showing green flag status on the website. Still always good to take precautions with safety front of mind as temperatures fade in the fall.

I see the water has warmed up a bit, but still on the cool side. If paddling please use suitable clothing and caution. I was informed suitable clothing could be, wet suit, dry suit, rash vest, layers of running tights - not wool! I will be heading out for a short paddle, and most likely staying close to shore. Construction Update - This week the stairs we use will be unavailable due to work on the north supporting wall. You can use the stairs down to the swimming docks. Then enter via the locked north dock gate. Code is 1245. You can also reach through the gate to turn knob.

Lord.....we have been patient this year with the construction, but it is not stopping us!

ONEC paddling is in “yellow flag” status - special care must be taken and suitable immersion clothing must be worn if choosing to kayak!  Cold water policy for temperatures between 11 and 16 degrees C is in effect:

• No Stand-up paddle boarding will be permitted

• Kayakers must wear suitable protective clothing

• Kayakers must paddle with a buddy Not sure social paddle will happen tomorrow if still on Yellow Flag Status, I will try and keep everyone posted.
