WAIVER AGREEMENT
I agree to abide by the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club Inc. By-laws, Code of Ethics, Members’ Code of Conduct, and sports-specific policies and rules. I also agree to be bound by the terms of the following Waiver and Indemnity Agreement if I use the Club's facilities and services.

I recognize that the use of the facilities and services available at the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club as well as sailing, rowing, tennis, and related activities involve potential risks. I undertake, in my personal capacity and those whom I represent, have custody, my heirs and assigns, to indemnify and save harmless the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club, its officers, employees, coaches, independent contractors and other representatives, their successors, heirs and assigns, from and against all claims, damages, loss, costs and expenses relating to any injury including death, or loss of or damage to my or third party's property and arising out of being incidental to my presence at the Club or the practice of the activities mentioned hereinabove. I acknowledge that I am responsible for the behaviour and safety of my children and my guests.

If I, or any member named on this form, joins the Rowing or Sailing program, I certify that I/he/she can swim 100 metres unassisted, see hazards, and exercise strenuously. The Club has the right, at any time, to ask for a medical certificate specifying that the member’s medical condition does not restrict him or her from taking part in the sport(s) in question; the Club reserves the right to suspend participation pending the provision of this certificate.

I understand that the Club carries no insurance for private boats. The mooring of boats offshore is the complete responsibility of the owners. If applying for rackage, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the ONEC rackage policy.

Waiver must be accepted by both adults if registration is for a Family Membership, and by a parent or guardian if registration is for a Student aged 16 or 17 (submit Parental Permission Form).
COVID WAIVER AGREEMENT
In order to help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission at the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club (“ONEC”), I CONFIRM THAT I HAVE REVIEWED the ONEC COVID-19 Policy (“Policy”) and supporting instruments, which have been made available to me via email and the ONEC website, and that I WILL ABIDE BY the relevant procedures applicable to me as set in the Policy and supporting instruments.
Release of Liability/Assumption of Risk
In consideration of being allowed to participate in ONEC activities and events, I acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:
1. Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist; and,
2. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,
3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation as regards protection against infectious diseases. If, however, I observe any unusual or significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
4. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS ONEC, its officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

Personal information

We respect the privacy of our members and participants. Personal information is collected for the purposes of communicating information on club activities, membership, day camps, events, programs as well as health, safety and registration issues. Personal information collected is never sold. Our membership in national and provincial sport organizations may require us to share member information with these organizations. For example, rowing membership and participant information is shared with Rowing Canada and ROWONTARIO so that these organizations can ensure regatta eligibility and promote the sport. Similarly, sailing membership and participant information is shared with Sail Canada and Ontario Sailing.

Information collected from your computer or other electronic device

We may also collect information about your online activities and your computer or other electronic device when you visit this website. This information may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, domain name, browser type, date and time of your request and information provided by tracking technologies, such as cookies. This information does not identify any individual. We may also use tracking devices to identify websites that you visit before and after this website. This tracking helps us to understand our users better and to improve our website and the information it provides and to maintain and administer the website. This tracking does not involve the collection of personal information.
Access and choice
Keeping your information accurate and up-to-date is important so we can provide you with helpful information and services. You may update, correct, or delete personal information by modifying your user profile. You can choose not to receive information about specific products and services, or any other promotional materials, from us by direct mail and/or e-mail at any time by modifying your communication preferences also located in your user profile. However, we reserve the right to send communications of a non-commercial nature to our members and participants.

Changes to the privacy policy
We reserve the right to revise this privacy policy at any time. You will be notified of any significant changes made herein.

Photo Release
I consent to photographs being taken of me during participation in ONEC activities and to their use by ONEC for marketing or promotional purposes. I understand I can withdraw this consent at anytime by notifying the Board of Directors, or ask that the Club not use my photos in promotional material.

Email Policy
I agree to receive email communication from the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club.
ONLINE CODE OF CONDUCT
ONEC Rowing's registration system is linked to a member portal which includes functionality that allows members to interact with other members through the portal. This Code of Conduct applies to interactions in the online member portal.
Who can access the ONEC member portal?

Please note that the ONEC member portal is to be used by members of ONEC only. Certain workspaces within the member portal will be tailored for and restricted to certain membership types; access to these areas will be determined and approved by ONEC staff. The Content that is displayed in your member portal will automatically vary based on your user / membership type.
What can be posted?
To ensure all interactions within the ONEC member portal are safe and friendly, ONEC staff will oversee the member portal activity and will review, edit, and delete any inappropriate content that has been submitted. This includes abusive or offensive language, spam, malicious files, or other disrespectful contact.
To help provide a productive environment, please report any offensive or suspicious activity to ONEC staff. Please note that not all user-submitted content is representative of ONEC, nor does it necessarily represent the views of ONEC, its staff or members.
