We still have some spaces left on Paddling Clinics this month which are open to both members and non-members.
Sunday June 12th 1pm Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Clinic
Tuesday June 14th 5.30pm Intro to Kayak Clinic
Saturday June 25th 9am Intro to SUP Clinic
Our clinics are taught by Paddle Canada certified instructors and last 3 hours. Cost is $55 (+HST). Bookings can be made by selecting the appropriate event on the ONEC Paddling calendar (https://www.onec.ca/paddling-calendar)
Kayaking Camp
This year we are launching Kayaking kids’ camp in July and August. Although most weeks are fully-booked, we still have some spaces left for kids aged 11 to 17 in our Kayaking day camps for the weeks commencing Aug 8th and Aug 22nd. Big Canoe – Chief Pinesi Day / Work Party
ONEC is proud to support the Chief Pinesi Day celebrations organised by Kichi Sibi Trails on July 1st in New Edinburgh by lending some of our traditional big canoes. This event will be celebrating the indigenous history of the area and will include short paddles on the Rideau River open to the public.
To make sure the ONEC canoes are in the best shape possible for the day, we need to inspect them and varnish the gunwales, so we are holding a work party to work on the canoes on Tuesday 14 June (from 4pm to 6pm and from 7pm to 9pm).
