June is an exciting month for sailing at ONEC: with the equipment largely set up for the season, the spring floodwaters receding, the river slowly warming and new members finding their feet after the first few training sails, we can expand the range of on-water activities. This June we can look forward to the return of Tuesday-evening Laser racing as well as two new initiatives. First, the Racing School on Sunday, June 8th will offer a one-day introduction to the basic rules and techniques of sail racing to all skippers with at least a season of experience. Second, we'll be testing the first iteration of our New Horizons for Seniors training program, aimed at retirees interested in sailing. There are a few open slots left in the program, so if you know anyone over the age of 55 who is free the week of June 16th and willing to join the program's first cohort, encourage them to contact director@sailonec.com for more information!
