    Rowing Day Camp with Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Beginner and Intermediate, Kids aged 11 to 17 This summer get your child out on the water at an Ottawa New Edinburgh Club (ONEC) Rowing Summer Day Camp with SUP!​ Kids will have fun learning a new sport (or improve on the skills learned last year), discover the amazing Ottawa River, and make new friends! Day campers are taught by trained coaches and receive an achievement certificate.​ ​For rowing, ONEC accepts a maximum of 10 campers at a time, so reserve your child’s spot now! ONEC day camps are offered from July to August. Register your child for a full week, two full weeks or more (each week must be booked separately). Refund Policy: Refunds are subject to an administrative fee of 10% and will not be granted within two weeks of the start of the session. In the instance that camps are cancelled, a full refund (minus any additional credit card charges) will be given.

The camp is run in a safe and structured environment by responsible and mature tennis instructors. ONEC’s day camps are a great way to get your child interested in tennis or to build on the skills they already possess. Campers are assessed on the first day and grouped according to their level of play. Even Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams don’t play tennis all day long. At ONEC, we offer structured off-court activities that complement the tennis program every morning and afternoon. Activities include Frisbee golf, capture the flag and other forms of active and quiet play. ONEC day camps are offered from July to August. Register your child for a full week, two full weeks or more (each week must be booked separately). Refund Policy: Refunds are subject to an administrative fee of 10% and will not be granted within two weeks of the start of the session.     No experience is necessary, as this Intro to Kayaking clinic will start with the basics, including getting in and out at the dock safely and reviewing basic paddling strokes. The clinic will go on to introduce intermediate strokes and assisted rescues depending on interest, time and conditions Price is $60 (+13%HST)= $67.80 Closed toe footwear is required i.e. no flip flops Bring a change of clothes - you will be getting wet Bring water Bring your personal PFD

    Pre-requisite: Ability to Swim Details: SailONEC provides a structured training program for adult members from May until the end of June.  It is comprised of both basic theory and practical skills segments. Experienced, certified skippers provide training to new members under the direction of the head instructor. The goal of the program is to train new members to a level at which they are competent to act as skippers and take club boats out on their own. To confirm this spot: After booking your Learn to Sail classes please purchase your Sailing or Sailing Multi-sport membership at: www.onec.ca/membership Refund Policy: ONEC Learn to Sail is considered a Membership. ONEC Memberships are non-refundable and transfers of Membership are subject to a 10% administrative fee.

  • SKILLS CONSOLIDATION

    Above pricing includes HST By getting a Step II: Skills Consolidation Membership package, your rowing instructions will continue in Step Two. Each class is 1 1/2hrs long for a total of 4 classes over 4 weeks, with the 5th week either being a rain date or an introduction to Quad rowing. Through personalised instruction, you will refine your rowing technique. You will learn to row safely on the Ottawa and near-by rivers. There is also an optional 1 1/2 hr practice session offered on Monday evenings at 6:30pm. Pre-requisite: Successful completion of Intro to Rowing or a year of sculling at another rowing club. Upon successful completion of Step Two, you will be able to join ONEC Rowing at which time you will receive boat reservation privileges, an invitation to the ONEC Sculling Meetup, as well as registration in Rowing Canada, Row Ontario, and the Ontario Adventure Rowing Association.

    Above pricing includes HST ( $546.00 + $70.98 HST) The ONEC Learn to Row program focusses on skill development and safety. By the end of 10 sessions, new rowers should be able to safely navigate the Ottawa River in a single scull with 2 oars. With a maximum of 5 in a class, under the guidance of highly skilled coaches, participants should: > Be able to demonstrate basic rowing skills, including how to safely launch and return the boat by themselves > Be able to explain basic sculling safety, including Ottawa River navigational patterns, when it is safe to row, and what to do in an emergency > Be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the ONEC electronic systems to book their own boats, connect with others to row safely and report any damage to the equipment. > And feel confident enough to safely traverse the Ottawa River. Start date subject to the waterfront conditions, at the time, the schedule may be delayed by 1 week. If you haven’t sculled for 2 years or more, either at ONEC or elsewhere, join ONEC with the Return to Rowing Program to participate in: > An Assessment in a single scull > An ONEC Rowing Orientation session which covers safety aspects that you need to know > Plus up to 2 coached sessions during the month of June to bring your rowing skills back to a level to safely row on the Ottawa River.
