    CANSail 3 & 4 Day Camp Kids aged 9 to 17 Students receive quality instruction stressing safety, fun, and learning. They are introduced to many different elements of sailing, safety practices, and seamanship. They will develop new skills in boat handling and sailing for both fun and competition! Sail Canada certified instructors teach trainees, and successful trainees receive Sail Canada certificates from CANSail 1 to CANSail 4. We emphasize safety and low student-to-instructor ratios per Sail Canada guidelines. With our flexible week-to-week program, your child can move up through the levels as the summer progresses.   • 2026 Learn to Row (Session D)

    Above pricing includes HST ( $740 + $96.20 HST) The ONEC Learn to Row program focusses on skill development and safety. By the end of 10 sessions, new rowers will be able to safely navigate the Ottawa River in a single scull with 2 oars. With a maximum of 6 in a class, under the guidance of highly skilled coaches, participants should: > Be able to demonstrate basic rowing skills, including how to safely launch and return the boat by themselves > Be able to explain basic sculling safety, including Ottawa River navigational patterns, when it is safe to row, and what to do in an emergency > Be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the ONEC electronic systems to book their own boats, connect with others to row safely and report any damage to the equipment. > And feel confident enough to safely traverse the Ottawa River. Start date subject to the waterfront conditions on the Ottawa River, at the time, the schedule may be delayed by 1 week. Refunds:If you register then life happens and you must withdraw from the program, if you do so at least one week before the program starts you will receive a full refund minus a 10% administrative fee. If you withdraw from the program within one week of the start date and up to the fourth class, you will receive a 50% refund minus a 10% administrative fee. If you withdraw from the program after the fifth class no refund will be issued.

  • Big Canoe Excursion

    Meet outside the ONEC Club Room on the lower level in the N.C.C. River House. After crossing the bridge, go round left side of building and down outside back stairs to lower level. ONEC Club room is on right at bottom of stairs. No experience is necessary, as this Intro to Big Canoe clinic will start with the basics, including getting in and out at the dock safely and reviewing basic paddling strokes. After an introduction to Big Canoe strokes, participants learn how to paddle together as a team as we embark on a trip into nature and history on the Ottawa River. on an excursion to the Rideau Falls (and to Parliament, if time permits). Price is $40 (+13%HST)= $45.20 Equipment: Paddles and PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices) are provided. If you have your own PFD please bring it as it will likely be more comfortable than a universal-sized one. Bring water and snacks as well as weather appropriate items, e,g, sunscreen, sun or rain hats, rain jackets.

    (Above pricing includes HST) Pre-requisite: Completion of Learn to Row + One season of rowing experience ​Coaches: Sherry Dolan & John Moore ​​Three classes of 1.5 hours each. ​ In small groups of 5 people you will continue to develop your rowing skills, and acquire new knowledge to help you feel comfortable in a racing shell. There will be a focus on learning to feel body and boat movements with emphasis on good posture to help with boat balance and injury avoidance. ​ There will be three sessions each focusing on developing your foundational boat handling and rowing skills covering the entry, drive, release and recovery. You will be practicing in racing singles but will have the option to go out in the racing doubles with either John or Sherry for additional coaching later in the season. There will be a strong focus on safety as it pertains to rowing in a racing shell along the Ottawa River. ​ At the end of Learn to Row: Racing Shells you will be well acquainted with the ONEC racing shell fleet. Once you've completed all three lesson plans, we'll place you with a rowing mentor who will be able to continue to help you develop your skills until you are ready to take the skills assessment required to be able to book racing shells at ONEC.

  • 2025 Big Canoe Excursion

    After an introduction to Big Canoe strokes, participants learn how to paddle together as a team as we embark on a trip into nature and history on the Ottawa River. Open to all members, guests and public. Price is $40 (+13% HST) = $45.20 A minimum of 4 participants is required for the excursion. If we do not have enough participants, we will offer to reschedule your excursion to another date (or refund you). Meet outside the ONEC Waterfront Room on the lower level in the N.C.C. River House. Eligibility: Adults and accompanied children 12 years and older; No canoeing experience is necessary, but everyone is expected to paddle. Cancellation policy: Cancellation by client: prior to 48 hours, refund minus $10 processing fee per client / within 48 hours, no refund unless the place can be filled. Cancellation by Club due to weather or any other unforeseen circumstance: full credit for another excursion or refund.

  • Tennis Camp

    Tennis Day Camp Beginner and Intermediate, Kids aged 7 to 17 Every camper learns stroke basics, game strategy, footwork, and sportsmanship! The camp is run in a safe and structured environment by responsible and mature tennis instructors. ONEC’s day camps are a great way to get your child interested in tennis or to build on the skills they already possess. Campers are assessed on the first day and grouped according to their level of play. Even Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams don’t play tennis all day long. At ONEC, we offer structured off-court activities that complement the tennis program every morning and afternoon. Activities include Frisbee golf, capture the flag and other forms of active and quiet play. ONEC day camps are offered from July to August. Register your child for a full week, two full weeks or more (each week must be booked separately).
