CANSail 1 & 2 Day Camp Kids aged 9 to 17 Students receive quality instruction stressing safety, fun, and learning. They are introduced to many different elements of sailing, safety practices, and seamanship. They will develop new skills in boat handling and sailing for both fun and competition! Sail Canada certified instructors teach trainees, and successful trainees receive Sail Canada certificates from CANSail 1 to CANSail 4. We emphasize safety and low student-to-instructor ratios per Sail Canada guidelines. With our flexible week-to-week program, your child can move up through the levels as the summer progresses. Youths’ skills and experience are evaluated on the first day of camp, and an appropriate boat is chosen for them. Beginning sailors will be taught on the two-person Pico or the three-to- four-person CL16. ONEC day camps are offered from July to August. Register your child for a full week, two full weeks or more (each week must be booked separately). Refund Policy: Refunds are subject to an administrative fee of 10% and will not be granted within two weeks of the start of the session. In the instance that camps are cancelled, a full refund (minus any additional credit card charges) will be given.

Kayaking Day Camp with Voyageur Canoe and Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Beginner and Intermediate, Kids aged 11 to 17 Participants learn kayaking skills according to the Paddle Canada Waterfront Kayak Skills program. Skills include how to get in and out of kayaks safely at the dock, basic strokes, safe water exit and assisted re-entry into a kayak from the water, as well as general skills for fun and safe paddling! Campers will also be introduced to the particular canoeing skills and teamwork needed for ten people to paddle a 24 foot Rabaska, Voyageur style, Canoe as they paddle together from the River House to Rideau Falls. The kayaking camp program also offers campers the opportunity to learn basic skills and have fun on Stand-up Paddleboards (SUPs). Campers improve their balance and coordination while perfecting the strokes and playing camp games! ONEC day camps are offered from July to August. - Orientation and Assessment
Target audience: New members who are experienced scullers Our goals are to give you an orientation to the Club, its rowing rules, safety, and the River including navigation routes; as well we will ensure that scullers are skilled enough to safely take out Club boats. Upon a successful assessment of your sculling competencies, you will be eligible to register for our full Membership, which includes access to our online boat reservation system, as well as all ONEC ROWING and Ontario Adventure Rowing programming. Note: If you need more sculling coaching, you will be directed to a Learn-to-Scull Step 1 course or, if you need a sculling refresher, a Learn-to-Scull Step 2 course.

Let Norma and her team of Coaches help to get you back on the water safely so that you'll have the confidence to take off along the Ottawa River again! What's included in the Free Back on the Water Program: One Free Coached Session with a Row Ontario Certified Coach, or Coach who is actively completing their Every Coach Certified training. Join the RCC on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 at 7:30PM on Zoom. We'll provide a brief update on plans for the 2021 rowing season. The main focus for this Zoom meeting will be to provide information on Membership updates and the new registration process for 2021. We'll also have a short Tutorial on how to register followed by a question period. We'll host a second Zoom meeting closer to the Rowing season with details about how ONEC and the RCC are taking covid-19 safety seriously and provide updates on policy as well as club operational procedures for 2021.
