CANSail 1 & 2 Day Camp Kids aged 9 to 17 Students receive quality instruction stressing safety, fun, and learning. They are introduced to many different elements of sailing, safety practices, and seamanship. They will develop new skills in boat handling and sailing for both fun and competition! Sail Canada certified instructors teach trainees, and successful trainees receive Sail Canada certificates from CANSail 1 to CANSail 4. We emphasize safety and low student-to-instructor ratios per Sail Canada guidelines. With our flexible week-to-week program, your child can move up through the levels as the summer progresses. Youths’ skills and experience are evaluated on the first day of camp, and an appropriate boat is chosen for them. Beginning sailors will be taught on the two-person Pico or the three-to- four-person CL16. ONEC day camps are offered from July to August. Register your child for a full week, two full weeks or more (each week must be booked separately). Refund Policy: Refunds are subject to an administrative fee of 10% and will not be granted within two weeks of the start of the session. In the instance that camps are cancelled, a full refund (minus any additional credit card charges) will be given.

- SKILLS CONSOLIDATION
Above pricing includes HST By getting a Step II: Skills Consolidation Membership package, your rowing instructions will continue in Step Two. Each class is 1 1/2hrs long for a total of 4 classes over 4 weeks, with the 5th week either being a rain date or an introduction to Quad rowing. Through personalised instruction, you will refine your rowing technique. You will learn to row safely on the Ottawa and near-by rivers. There is also an optional 1 1/2 hr practice session offered on Monday evenings at 6:30pm. Pre-requisite: Successful completion of Intro to Rowing or a year of sculling at another rowing club. Upon successful completion of Step Two, you will be able to join ONEC Rowing at which time you will receive boat reservation privileges, an invitation to the ONEC Sculling Meetup, as well as registration in Rowing Canada, Row Ontario, and the Ontario Adventure Rowing Association.
- 2025 Learn to Sail (Mondays)
Pre-requisite: Ability to Swim Details: SailONEC provides a structured training program for adult members from May until the end of June. It is comprised of both basic theory and practical skills segments. Experienced, certified skippers provide training to new members under the direction of the head instructor. The goal of the program is to train new members to a level at which they are competent to act as skippers and take club boats out on their own. Kayaking Day Camp with Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Beginner and Intermediate, Kids aged 11 to 17 Participants learn kayaking skills according to the Paddle Canada Waterfront Kayak Skills programn. Skills include how to get in and out of kayaks safely at the dock, basic strokes, safe water exit and assisted re-entry into a kayak from the water, as well as general skills for fun and safe paddling! Participants who successfully achieve all kayaking skills will receive certificants at the end of the day camps. The kayaking camp program also offers campers the opportunity to learn basic skills and have fun on Stand-up Paddleboards (SUPs). Campers improve their balance and coordination while perfecting the strokes and playing camp games! ONEC day camps are offered from July to August. Register your child for a full week, two full weeks or more (each week must be booked separately). Refund Policy: Refunds are subject to an administrative fee of 10% and will not be granted within two weeks of the start of the session. - 2026 Big Canoe Excursion
After an introduction to Big Canoe strokes, participants learn how to paddle together as a team as we embark on a trip into nature and history on the Ottawa River. Open to all members, guests and public. Price is $40 (+13% HST) = $45.20 A minimum of 4 participants is required for the excursion. If we do not have enough participants, we will offer to reschedule your excursion to another date (or refund you). Meet outside the ONEC Waterfront Room on the lower level in the N.C.C. River House. After crossing the bridge, go round left side of building and down outside back stairs to lower level. The ONEC room is on the right at the bottom of stairs. Eligibility: Adults and accompanied children 12 years and older; No canoeing experience is necessary, but everyone is expected to paddle. Equipment: Paddles and PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices) are provided. Bring water and snacks as well as weather appropriate items, e,g, sunscreen, sun or rain hats, rain jackets. Cancellation policy: Cancellation by client: prior to 48 hours, refund minus $10 processing fee per client / within 48 hours, no refund unless the place can be filled. Cancellation by Club due to weather or any other unforeseen circumstance: full credit for another excursion or refund.
