Activities start mid June and continue throughout the summer.

We can also create bespoke events for groups, businesses & schools.

KAYAK CLINICS

Paddle Canada Kayak Courses & Clinics

Pre-requisite: Ability to Swim​

Instruction by: Nanook Expeditions by Paddle Canada Certified Instructors

Intro to Kayak Clinic Skills Development

$70.00 + HST per person

3 hours  (1 evening)

No experience is necessary, as this Intro to Kayaking clinic will start with the basics, including getting in and out at the dock safely and reviewing basic paddling strokes. It will go on to introduce intermediate strokes and assisted rescues depending on interest, time and conditions.

Sea Kayak

Basic Skills

$200.00 + HST per person

8 hours  (2 evenings)

This eight hour course (over two evenings) is the shortest course entry point to the Paddle Canada Sea Kayak skills certification progression (for flat water kayaking). With a focus on foundation skills and knowledge, Basic Kayak Skills teaches safe launching & landing techniques, efficient stroke techniques and assisted rescue (to get back into a tipped kayak with the help of a partner). Upon completion of the course, students will receive Paddle Canada Basic Certification and recognition of skills needed to paddle outside of ONEC's beginner "Boathouse Zone" .

Sea Kayak

Level 1 Skills

$350.00 + HST per person

16 hours  (2 days)

Run over four evenings, the Sea Kayak Level-1 Skills is course that moves participants of any experience level beyond the Basic Skills of flat water kayaking, to equip them for safe paddling for longer outings in rougher conditions and with the ability to execute solo rescues (to get back into a kayak without assistance from others) . Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to confidently paddle in class-1 conditions in the company of one or more paddlers with similar skills or knowledge. The paddler should be self-reliant yet an asset to the group and an active participant, willing and able to assist others if they need assistance.

SUP CLINICS  

Stand Up Paddleboard Courses & Clinics

Pre-requisite: Ability to Swim​

Instruction by: Nanook Expeditions by Paddle Canada Certified Instructors

Intro to SUP Clinic Skills Development

$70.00 + HST per person

3 hours  (1 evening)

No experience is necessary, as this Intro to SUP clinic will start with the basics, including getting on and off at the dock safely and reviewing basic paddling strokes. It will go on to cover how to safely fall off & remount a board in the water and introduce strokes, from basic and beyond (time and conditions permitting).

Kayak In Practice Clinics - Skills Development Experiences

Kayak in Practice Greenland Traditions

$60.00 + HST per person

3 hours  (1 evening)

Join this special event to learn about Greenland Indigenous Paddle traditions and techniques. Learn the differences from "Euro" paddle strokes and try putting these techniques into practice using the Greenland "stick" Paddle.

Big Canoe Intermediate Leader Clinic

$180.00 + HST per person

1 day of instruction

In cooperation with Max Finkelstein, renowned cross-Canada canoeist and river conservationist, ONEC Paddling is once again offering an opportunity for canoeists to upgrade their skills and become Paddle Canada certified ‘big canoe’ leaders for guided tours.
