Programs are available for Members and Non-Members alike.  Come join us! 

 

Our clinics take place at the newly restored NCC River house and venture out along the beautiful Ottawa river.  Activities start mid June and continue throughout the summer. We can also create bespoke events for groups, businesses & schools.

Paddle Canada

Kayak Courses & Clinics

Pre-requisite: Ability to Swim​

Intro to Kayak Clinic Skills Development

$80.00 + HST per person

3 hours  (1 evening)

No experience is necessary, as this Intro to Kayaking clinic will start with the basics, including getting in and out at the dock safely and reviewing basic paddling strokes. It will go on to introduce intermediate strokes and assisted rescues depending on interest, time and conditions.

Intermediate Kayak Skills Clinic

$80.00 + HST per person

3 hours  (1 evening)

The main focus of this intermediate level kayaking clinic will be on teaching solo re-entry, to enable the paddler to get back into their kayak on their own (without needing assistance from another paddler in the event of a capsize). Some experience needed: recommended to have done an Intro Kayak clinic or a Basic course (to have completed an assisted re-entry). The clinic will go on to cover other intermediate strokes and skills depending on interest, time and conditions.

Big Canoe

Monthly Clinics

Pre-requisite: Ability to Swim​

Instruction by: Paddle Canada Certified Intermediate Leaders

Big Canoe Clinic and Excursion

$40.00 + HST per person per session

2-3 hours  (1 Sat morning)

Monthly Learn to Paddle excursions with Paddle Canada certified leaders, in Rabaska Big Canoes, Saturday mornings (last Saturday of month). Includes an introduction to paddle strokes and a trip up the Ottawa River towards Rideau Falls, the locks, and Parliament. ​ You can register below, or over on our paddling calendar.  If you'd like to book a large group (up to 18) then send us an e-mail at paddling@onec.ca and we'll get back in touch to arrange details.

Special Group Big

Canoe Excursions

Five to eighteen people

2-3 hours, price on enquiry

Book a Big Canoe outing for your own group of 5 to 18 people in one or two of our 24 foot Rabaska Voyageur Canoes. We'll head out along the Ottawa river and visit the must see sights like Rideau Falls and Parliament Hill.

Big Canoe Intermediate Leader Clinic

$180.00 + HST per person

1 day of instruction

In cooperation with Max Finkelstein, renowned cross-Canada canoeist and river conservationist, ONEC Paddling may once again be offering an opportunity for canoeists to upgrade their skills and become Paddle Canada certified ‘big canoe’ leaders for guided tours.
