Hello Rowers,

As you are aware, work is about to begin on the west foundation of the Riverhouse by an external contractor. Please read the following safety and operational updates before heading out to the water:

• Current Setup: The contractor’s barge is now in place. A ramp has been installed linking the east side of the grey rowing/paddling docks to the two foot high barge. 

• West Grey Dock: The section of the grey docks located west of the contractor's barge is currently highly unstable as work there is incomplete. Tomorrow morning, workers will secure the  west grey dock and construct a ramp linking the west grey dock to the contractor’s  barge. They will also attach a wooden dock to the end of the grey dock to extend its length. This work is scheduled to begin tomorrow between 07:30 AM and 08:00 AM.

Rowing Recommendations & Restrictions

Due to these conditions, we strongly recommend that members consider not rowing tomorrow morning (Sept 4).

If you do choose to row, please be aware of the following conditions:

• At Your Own Risk: You row at your own risk, with the full understanding that the dock is currently unstable and features a two-foot drop.

• Strict Clear-Out Time: You must be completely off the docks no later than 07:30 AM so we do not impede the contractors from completing their work.

  Going Forward

• The new dock setup leaves very limited space for launching and docking, so fast transitions in and out of boats will help everyone get on the water.

• Get ready beforehand: As quick as you can set up your boat.

• Launch quickly: Launch your boat away from the dock as quickly as possible, wait for your partner on the water.

• Clear the space: once docked move your boat out of the water as quickly as possible to allow others to dock or launch.
