Rowers - Beware strong currents and a missing ramp!
Welcome back everyone! The boats have returned to the clubhouse and another rowing season has begun.
This year the current is especially strong, which means you will be pulled downstream (towards Montreal) very quickly, and it will take you much longer to row back to the Riverhouse than later in the season when the current has weakened.
Please pay attention to the conditions and adjust your plans as needed. This may include booking a more stable boat (T6 and T7 for the win!), going out in doubles instead of singles, or deciding not to go out and booking for another day.
As always, row with friends. Assess the day's conditions together and make sure you are comfortable before leaving the dock. You are always responsible for yourself and your boat, even when rowing in 'coached programs'.
Please note: the East Bay ramp will be installed in the next few days. Some boats are in temporary positions to accommodate only one ramp. All rec singles and doubles can be accessed, however, the only Wintech 24 that can currently be accessed is the Klara. Stay tuned for updates in the next week.
Let's start the 2026 rowing season safely and have fun! See you on the water everyone.
