Rowing Patterns are important!

We received a reminder from our friends at ORC

' We've noticed a few close calls over the last couple of weeks involving morning single scullers coming out from behind the boathouse and crossing directly over the river, rather than rowing upstream before crossing. Because crews traveling downriver are moving backwards relative to those crossing, this creates a double-blind spot and a high-risk collision zone on the far side of the stream. ' see photo attached

It is very important you row upstream a little and aim for the marina on the Quebec side . Never aim for the tip of Kettle Island when crossing!

I let Zak at ORC know their crews still stop at the sailing docks and block our entrance/exit. He has sent a reminder to have them stop at the swim docks.

Be aware and keep on shoulder checking!
