Racking the Violetta
As a rule, all shells go in “fin first” to be racked, with their stern at the north end of the boathouse (pointing toward Quebec). The Violetta is the exception, it needs to be racked in the opposite direction: stern at the south end (pointing toward Ontario) or fin LAST. Otherwise, the hull is too wide for one of the rack's arms, and the boat’s bow rests on the concrete foundation.
