Reminder: Register by June 30 for the Moonlight Row

A MOONLIGHT ROW:  A Special Experience

Join fellow rowers for this special night row, on Thursday, July 10, when a full or Buck moon will be visible.  Rowing at night is a unique experience that few have the opportunity to do.  This is an opportunity to see the city and environs by night from the river.

Details:

Boats:  2 quads with coxies/coxes and two T-7s.

Safety: All participants will wear PFDs and head-lamps and row in flotilla group, remaining in close proximity to one another. Flotilla  will be accompanied by safety boats and each safety boat will have a crew of two.  The safety boat(s) will be fitted with appropriate lights to conform to boating regulations.   In event of unsuitable weather the event will be rescheduled to Friday, August 8 during the next full moon.

Route:  From boathouse west to Parliament Hill, enter Gatineau River to the first bridge, back to Ottawa River and continue east to boathouse.   Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.  Slow pace. Start at sunset.  Specific details and time for launch will be communicated several days prior to the event.

Participants:  Up to 14 rowers plus safety boat(s) crew(s).  Participants must be members of ONEC and have successfully completed the learn to row course and be approved by the organizer(s) and head coach.

If you would like to row or help with the safety boats, email to Alistair ahensler@bell.net by June 30.
