OARS

There are currently 26-28 sets of Club oars available to members at water level. The four upper arms of the oar rack hold our 15 newer pairs, and these are the ones most rowers prefer. Here are how they measure up:

7 Smoothies: lightweight, oar length 284 cm, 2 small, 3 medium, 2 large grips. Grip size is on the shaft near the grip. Inboard is 85-86 cm, which is the Club standard.

8 Bantams: lightweight, oar length 281 cm, all grips the same S/M size. Inboard is 85-86 cm.

Others: assorted hatchet blades, varying lengths, varying colours, sizes and textures of grips, weight ranging from light to heavy. Inboard should all be close to 85-86 cm. Find a pair that works for you, so that you'll know what to take when the newer oars are all in use!

Non-standard sets located at back of rack, below Bantams.

#8: oar length 293.5 cm, inboard 89 cm. For much taller than average.

#4: oar length 280 cm, inboard 83 cm. For much shorter than average.

Please

Do not move the collars or grips.

Do not move oars between racks upstairs and at water level.

If you're cannot find oars you like, and you'd like to try an adjustment, email boatrepair@onec.ca or submit a request using the QR code opposite the lockers.
