This morning, waiting for the fog to lift, some rowers decided to repair the “Goose Fence” and make it easier to use. Here’s how it works:

To OPEN the main fence, carry the 3 buckets along the dock’s edge, over to the 4th bucket near the pillars, and line them up between the 2 concrete pillars, out of the way.

To CLOSE the fence, reverse the process. If the buckets have been lined up, the tape should not be impossibly tangled.

A smaller opening can be made if not all the dock space is needed, by moving fewer buckets--but keep them lined up at the edge, not stacked.

Don’t empty the buckets and stack them on the concrete pad. Keep the buckets partly filled with water at all times, so they won’t be blown into the river. CLOSE the fence if you’re the last boat in, and no one is preparing to launch. Don’t leave it open for rowers/paddlers who may come later or camps (they’re over). Extra yellow caution tape can be found in the yellow and black crate below the oars.
