Onec Paddling Dry Land Orientation

Updated: Jun 23

Welcome or welcome back to ONEC paddling!   We have put together this orientation package to help you get to know our facilities, policies, procedures, and provide valuable information to make your paddling season a safe and stellar one.

If you missed the dryland orientation event, we strongly recommend reviewing  the slide show found below.  It gives new and returning members a great overview of what you need to know.

Our Facilities

We are located at the NCC River House and are settling into our new home there.  You can reach our space by going around the main level deck, (go to the left of the main doors) and go down the stairs to the lower level.  We occupy the west side of this lower level and access it through the door with a keypad.  You will see the access codes for the boathouse space, the stairs to the docks, and the locks for the kayaks on the booking system main page when you have access to it. For returning members, this is as soon as the water temperature is warm enough to take out boats, i.e., our green season. For new members, this is as soon as you have successfully completed your on water safety check or a course or clinic.

Inside you will see,

Our paddles and other equipment

Our safety corner with all necessary safety equipment and the very important sign in and out sheet

Our kitchen area , a work in progress but it will be beautiful!

Our learning lounge

We use the public washroom facilities and showers located next to our space. All outdoor deck areas of the River House are public spaces. Our dock areas are for members only.

While we encourage everyone to enjoy the views and ambiance of the boathouse, remember that our pavilion with outdoor seating next to the tennis courts is open to all members.  You can purchase alcoholic and other beverages and snacks there and enjoy some social time in a less public space.

Keeping in Touch
